  • Maury County Public Schools (MCPS) receives supplemental federal grant funds through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015. The ESEA authorizes a number of grant programs targeted to meet the needs of students.

Each grant program has unique requirements, including how funds can be spent, when funds can be spent, and how funds must be managed. Below is a summary of the ESEA grant programs that MCPS currently receives and a brief description of how the funds from each grant must be spent.

    Title I

The Title I, Part A program provides supplemental funding to support the instructional programs in public schools with high numbers of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards.
