ESSER

Maury County Public Schools received Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, Public Law 117-2. The federal relief funding is a significant opportunity for school districts in the state to accelerate student achievement. Outcomes achieved over these four years can set a policy and investment foundation for years to come. As a result, the MCPS has developed comprehensive plans to ensure all ESSER funds will be used to support the safe re-opening and the sustainability of safe operations of all MCPS schools by addressing the impact on the coronavirus pandemic on students and families.

Maury County Public Schools is seeking feedback on the ESSER budget plan. Our ESSER applications for the 2022-2023 school year funding are being reviewed by the state. If approved, the district will receive 14 million dollars as a part of the federal American Recovery Plan. As a district, we invite MCPS families and Maury County community members to provide input for the ESSER budget. Please use the link below to participate in the anonymous ESSER survey.

Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan

The LEA (Local Education Agency) must continue to assess and make publicly available a Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services. All plans must be developed with meaningful public consultation with stakeholder groups (i.e., families, students, teachers, principals, school and district administrators, school leaders, other educators, school staff, and advocacy organizations representing student groups). The consultation process must include an opportunity for input and meaningful consideration of that input.

Please note that LEAs need to update the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan at least every six months through September 30, 2023. The LEA must seek public input on the plan and any revisions and take such input into account. Below are links to view the district’s approved plans for the 21-22 school year and the 22-23 school year.
