Introducing the Industry 4.0 Diploma Distinction for 9th and 10th Grade Students
August 19, 2024
We are excited to announce the launch of the new Industry 4.0 Diploma Distinction exclusively for 9th and 10th grade students at Maury County Public Schools! This unique distinction allows students to begin preparing for a career in a high-need, high-skill industry while still in high school, setting them up for success in the modern workforce.
What is the Industry 4.0 Diploma Distinction?
The Industry 4.0 Diploma Distinction is designed to help 9th and 10th grade students align their high school education with their future career goals in high-demand industries. By earning this distinction, students will have the opportunity to gain valuable work-based learning (WBL) experiences and dual enrollment credits, preparing them for a smooth transition into the workforce after graduation.
Requirements for the Industry 4.0 Diploma Distinction
Students in 9th and 10th grades who wish to earn the Industry 4.0 Diploma Distinction must complete the following:
-
At least nine (9) dual enrollment or work-based learning (WBL) credits: These credits should be aligned with the student’s career goals during their junior and senior years of high school.
-
Monthly career coaching and counseling: To ensure students are well-prepared for their transition into the workforce, they will receive ongoing career coaching and counseling.
-
Substitution options: Students will have the option to substitute a WBL or dual enrollment course, as approved by the State Board of Education, for one math credit and one science credit.
This initiative is part of our commitment to providing students with the skills and experiences necessary to thrive in today's rapidly evolving job market.
