📚 MCPS Students Show Gains in ELA Proficiency Across All Grades!
Maury County Public Schools (MCPS) has made significant strides in English Language Arts (ELA) proficiency, as shown in the 2024 scores released by the Tennessee Department of Education! 🎉
ELA expectations go beyond just reading a text. Students are challenged to read, comprehend, and use the information to respond through essays, charts, graphs, and other forms of written expression. In 2024, Maury County's proficiency rates increased at a faster pace compared to the State of Tennessee in 3rd, 5th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grades.
The data from the Tennessee Department of Education highlights a steady upward trend, with overall district proficiency rates consistently improving since 2018. 📈
Lisa Ventura, Superintendent of MCPS, expressed her excitement: "I am proud and excited to tell you we are still trending up... I am happy that we are increasing and that we have multiple years of increase at this moment in time. It takes a large number of students making gains in their academic achievement to bring up the aggregate average, and that’s something to be proud of."
MCPS remains dedicated to enhancing ELA proficiency at every grade level, ensuring that each student is prepared for future academic challenges and successes. 🌟
