Whitthorne Middle School Named National Beta School of Merit

A purple and gold tiger mascot with the letters 'WM' behind it.Maury County Public Schools is proud to announce that Whitthorne Middle School is a 2023-2024 National Beta School of Merit. The school earned this recognition by offering National Beta to all eligible grades on their campus.

The National Beta School of Merit award is given to honor a club’s dedication and commitment to academic excellence. To achieve this prestigious honor, a school must include members from all eligible grade levels in their Beta club. This year, 49% of Beta Clubs across the country received this award.

In a congratulatory letter to the school, Bobby Hart, CEO said “Thank you for your continued support of National Beta and commitment to developing future leaders!”

Dr. Cara Skaggs, principal at Whitthorne Middle School is proud of the school’s recognition and commends club sponsors, Jennifer Ervin and Karyn Staats. “Our club sponsors continue to seek ways to provide our students with leadership opportunities and for our students to serve within the school and community. I look forward to our Beta Club members being even more involved this school year.”
