Creek Crushes Cancer in Honor of Principal's Granddaughter

Players and fans of Battle Creek and Giles County High Schools came together to play in the first annual Creek Crushes Cancer Softball Game. $621 was raised to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of Heidi Street. Heidi, a sophomore at Summitt High School and the granddaughter of BCHS Principal Mike Kinnard, was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma in December. She has responded well to her treatments and is scheduled to have her final one in a couple of weeks. We were proud to have Heidi throw a first pitch strike to her grandfather who caught the ball at home plate. Battle Creek stands with Heidi and all of those will have experienced this horrible disease...just know that we support you and that No One Battles Alone!
